FakeSpot gives it a C (large number fake/paid for reviews).
The adjusted average review, removing the fakes, is 2/5* (i.e. crap)
.

If you are on Windows 10 and get "Publisher Blocked" error message, you have to download the newer driver .exe available here (scroll down to bottom and look for WF-R13 Wi-Fi Adapter Driver for Windows" which is version 5.1.28 (dated 1/20/2017):

https://www.aukey.com/downloads

Quote from arkaaya :
For all those looking for a Linux or Mac drivers.

The Aukey WF-R13 uses the Mediatek MT7612U chipset. And Mediatek does provide Linux & Mac drivers for that chipset. You might try your luck by downloading the driver files directly from the Mediatek website - https://www.mediatek.com/products...fi/mt7612u [mediatek.com]

Note: Looks like the Linux & Mac download links are interchanged. I downloaded the Linux file and got a 'dmg' file while the Mac file had a tar ball with a lot of .c and .sh files which I think is for Linux. You probably need to compile and make your own driver on Linux.

Good luck and if you've got it to work, please post here for others' reference.

Great price, but junk apparently.

If you sort all reviews by date, the ones from the last few months say it's Plug and Play with Win 10 (don't search for drivers or use CD).

I agree, for batteries Anker has a better sturdy feeling. Aukey works but it just feels cheaper

"Not compatible with Linux". Bummer!
The chipset is actually compatible. Don't know why they say it isn't.

Latest Realtek drivers are on their site, not on windows update. Latest drivers are perfect.

Tell them it's defective and they'll cover the return shipping cost.

I saw someone say something about realtek chipset/drivers... I don't own this thing, so I could be mistaken, but the chipset (probably) isn't Realtek, it's MediaTek MT7612UN. And that clone appears to have legit Win10 drivers:

Reference: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Aukey_WF-R13
...says it's identical to the EDUP EP-AC1605 v1...
Reference: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/EDUP_EP-AC1605
...which states the chipset for v1. Which has a driver at...
Reference: http://www.szedup.com/support/dri...05-driver/
...at the bottom, "EP-AC1605 Driver(7612 Chipset)" lists mac/linux/win drivers, including...
Reference: http://www.szedup.com/download/windows-(f).zip
...direct download link "For Win 10/8.1/8/7/XP", which just installed without any issue on my win10 box

UPDATE: I did end up buying this adapter, and indeed, it works perfectly in Windows 10. Since I'd already installed the driver noted above, I literally just plugged it in and Windows started advertising local wifi networks.

I wanted to believe it was Realtek but I think you're right. The earlier post about this using 8812au drivers I think the commenter on Amazon might not have owned it or owned the wf-r6 which does have the 8812au but looks nothing like this. Wikidevi shows other adapters based on this design from different brands that have a Mediatek chip. Still a good price but probably no Kali support.

Would this be ideal for a new pc build without mobo wifi support? Or am I better off getting an internal PCI card for it?
LAN would be ideal. Had nothing but problems with pci wifi. At least I can quickly change usb wifi when they crap out.

Can I use this on a TV that needs a wireless adapter - in other words it doesn't have a built in wireless receiver?
Without knowing even the brand, much less the model, who knows? It can't hurt to check the manual and/or manufacturer's website FAQ, but as a general matter, it's unlikely. Adapters like these are designed to work with standard computer operating systems, not proprietary TV firmware, and I think most, if not all, TVs that are specifically designed to make use of outboard wifi adapters typically use proprietary dongles and either the sets' Ethernet ports or separate proprietary ports, rather than a USB port. (Most flat screen TVS do have USB ports, but they're typically for specific, limited purposes, like updating firmware, accessing diagnostic functions and data, and sometimes displaying photos, videos, or/and music files on USB flash drives.) If the TV has an Ethernet port, though, you should be able to make use of a "standard" wifi-Ethernet adapter/bridge, as discussed earlier in the thread (starting around post #13)..

Would've given this one a try but bought this one https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-N3...B00416Q5KI a few weeks ago, works as advertised. More expensive for sure but no issues and my wifi signal increased by 2 bars in my garage.
